Inspired by the events that took place on September 11th, 2001.
-The trident beams that were a signature architectural element from the base of the twin towers. These massive steel trident, which stood up to nine stories tall, are iconic artifacts that have since been put into the 9/11 museum. Among all of the debris after the towers fell, a section of the building still stood, and they were being upheld by these trident beams. We see that as a symbol that even after such a tough blow, we are still able to stand tall as a nation, and as the city of New York did, and has done since the attack. This is why we framed the image with the steel trident beams.
-The center of the piece stands a fire fighter, policeman, and medical provider. These represent the first responders that we heavily rely on every day, especially in times of need. In someways we take them for granted, but they truly are the backbone of this nations health and safety. On the right side stands the statue of freedom holding a torch, which is a symbol of this great nation’s freedom. This statue is erected on top of our nations capitol building. Behind the statue of freedom is a soldier standing holding the torch along with her, and this is a symbol that we must always protect freedom at all costs, even if it means war.
- The two buildings in the background are obviously the world trade center towers, and they depict the location of where each building was hit, and they also have billowing smoke. On this day, this was one of the last things that we remember before they fell. We just wanted to give you a little insight on the piece and why it was made the way it is. We will post throughout the day about when these pieces will be available for purchase.
